Trump’s Truth Social App Pushes Up Launch Date, Expected to Go Live Monday

President Donald Trump’s new social media venture, Truth Social, has reportedly moved its launch date forward and is now expected to go live on Monday.

According to a new report from Reuters, the new platform appears ready to be released to the general public in Apple’s App Store on Monday.

CEO Devin Nunes had recently stated that the launch date wasn’t expected until toward the end of March.

A reporter from Reuters saw posts from an executive of Truth Social on a test version of the App that claimed the Truth Social is going live on Monday.

If accurate, Trump would mark his return to social media on the Presidents Day holiday.

In a series of posts late Friday night, a verified account for Truth Social’s chief product officer took questions from people invited to use the beta version of the app.

One asked when the app, which has been available to beta testers for a short while, would go live with the general public.

“We’re currently set for release in the Apple App store for Monday, Feb. 21,” the executive said.

Apple’s App Store says Truth Social also dropped a huge hint saying the app is “expected” to go live on Monday, Feb. 21.

From The Toronto Sun:

The chief product officer’s other responses during Friday’s question-and-answer session suggested the startup’s features would resemble those of Twitter.

Asked whether users would be able to edit their “truths,” the executive replied “not yet.” The ability to edit posts after publication is something Twitter users have long sought.

The next significant feature released on the platform will be direct messages, or DMs, between users, the executive wrote.

The company is also considering allowing users to sign up to receive notifications when others post content, the executive said. He signaled that the ability to block other users would be an important component.

“There will always be block functionality in the app,” he wrote

Truth Social describes its Big Tent’ mission in the App store as:

The combination of multiple families from all over the United States, and the world. Uncle Jim from Atlanta is a proud libertarian. Aunt Kellie from Texas is a staunch conservative.

Your cousin John from California is a die-hard liberal. And guess what? They’re all together to have an amazing time and share their viewpoints of the world. Although we don’t always agree with each other, we welcome these varied opinions and welcome the conversation.
