Tucker Carlson has slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her Democrat colleagues in New York after they took credit for an Amazon warehouse winning a vote to be unionized.
In 2020, Christian Smalls was fired from an Amazon warehouse in Staten Island because he was trying to organize a union at the company.
Amazon is not a big fan of unions and fights them at every turn.
But Smalls persisted and two years after he started his battle against Jeff Bezos’ company, he won.
The New York employees voted 1,518 to 1,154 on April 1 to join the Amazon Labor Union.
But AOC, despite talking a big game, went silent during the fight when her voice could have been a huge help.
However, she has now popped up to praise the effort and take credit for the victory after Smalls won the vote.
During an interview with Smalls, Carlson asked out AOC’s “imput”:
“Were you surprised that Sandy Cortez — Alexander Ocasio-Cortez — who has said repeatedly that she’s on the side of the worker against the corporation, wasn’t standing with you at the barricades?”
Smalls said: “She doesn’t deserve this moment.”
“We know that whether they showed up or not, they didn’t make or break our election.
“It wasn’t just her, all of them pretty much.”
Carlson said:
“I’ve never been particularly pro-union, but it does seem like Amazon needs some counterbalance.
“If this huge company, the workers have no power, and maybe we could, I don’t know, share a little power with the people who work there.
“That’s my view, anyway.”
“I certainly am rooting for you,” Carlson told Smalls, giving him more support than AOC.
“Maybe if they throw some more woke slogans at you, you’ll forget you can’t feed your family,” he said.
