Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson has put America’s corporate media on notice by warning that “the old system is collapsing.”
Carlson warns that the mainstream media provides information to voters that comes from just a handful of people who already have power and will never give it up.
The media has lied too many times to the American people but the public is now waking up.
From the Iraq war to the Trump-Russia hoax, the media has become propaganda.
“The old system is collapsing,” Carlson told Axios.
“You can’t claim you’ve got a democracy if all the information voters receive before a presidential election has been curated by the people already in charge.”
Carlson is not the only one cheering the end of the corporate media’s reign, however,
In a huge break from tradition, Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis will announce his 2024 presidential campaign tonight on Twitter, as Slay News reported.
He snubbed Fox News, the usual place for a Republican to announce, and instead will do it live on Twitter in an event hosted by billionaire Elon Musk.
Carlson recently posted a video on Twitter to announce he is relaunching his show on the platform and the post got over 100 million views, which likely made an impression on DeSantis, and others.
According to a Gallup survey, people follow individuals for the news, not networks.
Over 50% of Americans now say they have lost faith in the media, the poll also found.
Gallup says the number one person America follows for the news is Tucker Carlson.
According to Gallup:
In 2022, the highest percentage of Americans in 50 years of Gallup tracking reported no confidence at all in the news media.
This aligns with growing public distrust in a wide variety of U.S. institutions.
Gallup’s research with Knight Foundation over the past five years has revealed the drivers and barriers of trusting the news and has quantified the depth of Americans’ negative feelings about the news today.
When the trends hit a low point, is all hope lost?
A new Gallup/Knight Foundation study finds that many Americans regularly turn to individuals with public platforms for news and information.
These individuals include celebrities, journalists, academic experts, TV show hosts, online influencers, and business leaders.
The top two reasons given for following these individuals are personality and trust.
According to Gallup, Americans’ favorite public individuals for providing information and news are:
- Tucker Carlson
- Rachel Maddow
- Sean Hannity
- Trevor Noah
- Ben Shapiro
- Stephen Colbert
- Lester Holt
- John Oliver
- David Muir
- Anderson Cooper
- Joe Rogan
- Joe Biden
- Donald Trump
- Neil deGrasse Tyson
- Bill Maher
- Nicolle Wallace
- Jake Tapper
Meanwhile, Carlson and his allies are not sitting back and watching the media empires of old collapse as YouTube shows get more viewers than CNN, Fox, and MSNBC.
Carlson is currently embroiled in a nasty legal battle with Fox News and he is hitting them where it hurts.
“Fox News devotes hours of programming to attacking ‘woke companies,’ but ironically Fox is as woke as the rest of them,” a former Fox News employee told me, emphasizing that Fox viewers would be “astonished to find out what the company is like.”https://t.co/yDNqnZkisz

.@MattWalshBlog: “There’s no daylight at all between Fox News and MSNBC when it comes to gender. And I think that’s something that Fox’s viewers need to know.” https://t.co/yDNqnZkisz
