Twitter Founder Jack Dorsey Agrees with Elon Musk that Trump Ban was ‘Wrong’

Twitter’s founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey has revealed that he agrees with the company’s new anti-woke owner Elon Musk that banning President Donald Trump from the platform was “wrong.”

Dorsey came clean about the decision to shut down Trump’s account on the social media platform after Musk revealed he plans to “reverse” the ban.

As Slay News first reported Tuesday, Musk blasted the banning of Trump as “morally bad” and “foolish.”

“I do agree,” Dorsey said in response to Musk’s comments.

“There are exceptions (CSE, illegal behavior, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work, which I wrote about here after the event (and called for a resilient social media protocol).

“It was a business decision, it shouldn’t have been and we should always revisit our decisions and evolve as necessary.

“I stated in that thread and still believe that permanent bans of individuals are directionally wrong.

“As I said in the thread, we made the decision based on the information we had and what we thought best.

“Impossible situation.

“I’m saying a corporation should not have to make this decision in the first place, not for something as important as public conversation.”

Musk ripped Twitter’s decision to ban Trump during a new interview yesterday.

“I think it was a morally bad decision to be clear and foolish in the extreme,” Musk said today while speaking at the Financial Times’s “Future of the Car” event.

“I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump,” he continued.

“I think that was a mistake.

“It alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.

“I would reverse the permanent ban.

“I don’t own Twitter yet.

“So this is not like a thing that will definitely happen, because what if I don’t own Twitter?”
