During President Donald Trump’s victory speech, Vice President-Elect JD Vance celebrated the victory as “the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America.”
Vance takes the podium to make his first statement as the VP-elect during celebrations in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He pays tribute to Trump, thanking him for the opportunity to be his running mate, before turning to the crowd.
“I think that we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America,” he says, to huge cheers.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, we’re never going to stop fighting for you, for your dreams, for the future of your children.
“And after the greatest political comeback in American history, we’re going to lead the greatest economic comeback in American history – under Donald Trump’s leadership.”

Trump commented that Vance turned out to be a “good choice” for his running mate.
“I took a little heat at the beginning, but… I knew the brain was a good one, about as good as it gets.”
Trump praised Vance’s ability to fearlessly take on corporate media networks and tear them to shreds.
Trump also praised his family and his top supporters.
He has been calling a few people forward to the podium to speak, before continuing his own speech.
“Everybody up here is very special,” Trump said.
Supporters in the crowd have been yelling out: “Elon!”
“We have a new star – a star is born, Elon [Musk]!” Trump said.
“He is an amazing guy, we were sitting together tonight.
“He spent two weeks in Philadelphia and different parts of Pennsylvania campaigning.”
He recounts watching a SpaceX rocket launch, saying only Elon is capable of such a thing.
“That’s why I love you, Elon,” Trump says.
Trump noted that Musk has ensured that America is far ahead of rival nations such as China and Russia in terms of space technology.
He also hails Elon Musk’s use of the Starlink communications system in the aftermath of a recent hurricane in North Carolina – a swing state Trump is projected to win.
“It was great, it saved a lot of lives,” Trump says.
“He saved a lot of lives.”
Trump added that America needs to “protect our super geniuses”, saying: “We don’t have that many of them.”
“God bless you and God bless America,” Trump concluded.
“Thank you very much.”
