The co-hosts of “The View” suffered a collective meltdown in response to President Donald Trump’s appearance at the 2024 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Conference on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the hosts of the controversial ABC show expressed outrage that Trump provided a live interview at the event after the organizers invited him to do so.
Trump sat down for an interview with hostile ABC reporter Rachel Scott.
As Slay News reported, Trump ended up calmly shredding Scott over her combative line of racially charged and false claim-filled questioning.
However, without introducing the 45th president to the audience, Scott unloaded on Trump with a long-winded question filled with false claims.
The reporter began by accusing Trump of lying and attacking the black community.
Trump sat patiently as Scott reeled off multiple false claims while accusing him of being a liar and a racist.
As she continued, Trump sat quietly without interrupting until she finished.
The mostly-black crowd then went wild as Trump unleashed on Scott in response.
“Well, first of all, I don’t think I’ve ever been asked a question in such a horrible manner,” Trump said as the crowd erupted.
“You don’t even say, ‘Hello. How are you?’
“Are you with ABC?” he asked Scott.
“Because I think they are a fake news network.
“A terrible network.”

During the interview, Trump appeared to win the crowd over with his responses, despite efforts from Scott to turn them against him.
Nevertheless, the hosts of “The View” lost their minds over Trump’s appearance.
However, aside from falsely accusing Trump of being “racist,” it wasn’t entirely clear what the hosts were outraged about.
The co-hosts went around the table, complaining that Trump had even been invited to appear.
Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris had also been invited.
However, she refused to appear in person and only offered to address the group virtually, a point that “The View” failed to mention.
Sunny Hostin kicked things off by attacking Trump’s claim that Harris, who is biracial, leaned into her racial identity when it was politically convenient.
As Trump noted during the interview, Harris previously described herself as American-Indian but now often asserts herself as black when it’s convenient.
Hostin, also biracial, argued that having a white mother did not change her perception that the KKK was coming for her:
“And the KKK is going to find me and round me up with every other black person …
“This is my lived experience.”

Joy Behar says Trump's entire base is racist:
"My point is he was really working for his base right now. That was to signal his base…It was like an opportunity to say to all the racists out there, see, see what I'm saying here. See what I did there?" pic.twitter.com/tHXc0rF5u0— Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) August 1, 2024
Joy Behar claimed that Trump was just using the platform to make “racist” comments that his base would appreciate.
“It was like an opportunity to say to all the racists out there, see, see what I’m saying here,” Behar said.
“See what I did there?”
Hostin went on to complain about Trump’s comments regarding what he had done for the black community as president.
She argues that Trump’s work with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) did not really count.
Hostin claims that building businesses in black communities didn’t guarantee black people would get those jobs.
Goldberg wrapped up the conversation with an angry outburst.
“He did exactly what often Republicans b*tch about, ‘you don’t invite me, you don’t want to listen.’
“Well, we invited you and we heard you and you can’t come back!”
