Virginia Judge Removes Soros-Funded DA from Criminal Case for ‘Misleading Public’

A Virginia judge has removed a George Soros-funded liberal prosecutor from a criminal case in an unprecedented move because she was “misleading” the public.

Loudoun County Circuit Court Judge James Plowman reached his limit with the Loudon County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, revealing that “woke” prosector Buta Biberaj was “deliberately misleading the Court and the public” in pushing for a lenient plea deal.

Far-left soft-on-crime DA Biberaj was installed by radical billionaire George Soros and ran on a campaign against mass incarcerations, according to reports.

The order to remove Biberaj was issued by JudgePlowman, who wrote: “The Commonwealth is deliberately misleading the Court, and the public, in an effort to ‘sell’ the plea agreement for some reason that has yet to be explained.

“The representations contained herein are specifically drafted to mislead the reader and lack the appropriate level of candor which the Court requires of Virginia attorneys.

“The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office agreed to a 6-month sentence, and the low end of the sentencing guidelines was 7 months, once the Fauquier County conviction was factored, the low end of the guidelines was 1 year and 7 months.”

The judge said Biberaj, “entered the plea negotiations and entered into a plea agreement absent a full review of the facts, and without exercising due diligence to the performance of her duties in preparation for the case.”

The judge added the ”Inability of the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to properly prosecute this case with the detail and attention required of a criminal prosecutor and consistent with the professional standards and obligations of a prosecutor.

“Biberaj and the Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is hereby REMOVED AND DISQUALIFIED from further prosecution as counsel of record in this matter,” the judge wrote.

Bieraj said, “The documents we filed were fully accurate and consistent with the facts that were at the time of the agreement in August as well as the time of the signatures on Dec. 22.”

She added, “Mr. Valle is a 19-year-old boy, a teenager. He could be your son. He could be your brother. He could be your child’s playmate. He is 19 years of age. Guess what? Back in the period of May 2021, he made some knucklehead decisions.”

From The Free Beacon:

Concern with the Soros prosecutors’ handling of crime has generated two recall efforts. One of the groups leading the charge, Virginians for Safe Communities, is hoping to get thousands of signatures from voters to spark a special election.

Biberaj dismissed the recalls in a Washington Post op-ed on Friday, referring to her opponents as “outside special interests.”

Soros contributed more than $860,000 to Biberaj through his Justice and Public Safety PAC in 2019, helping her win by a 2-point margin, though she had no prosecutorial experience.

The Democratic megadonor similarly boosted Descano and Dehghani-Tafti, donating six-figure sums to each of their campaigns.

Biberaj’s office charged the burglar, Kevin Enrique Valle, with two felonies in Loudoun last year but, according to Plowman, Valle had also been arrested for burglaries in three other Virginia counties in May 2021—one of which occurred the same day as the Loudoun burglary.

Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Michele Burton had not noted the other burglaries in the plea agreement.

Plowman called the plea deal “an overt misrepresentation by omission.”
