Voters Drop the Hammer on Democrats over Mar-a-Lago Raid, Poll Shows

The raid by Joe Biden’s FBI on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home has severely backfired against the Democrats, according to a new poll.

As Slay News reported, President Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland admitted during a Thursday press conference that her “personally approved” the raid on Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida residence.

After the Monday raid, President Trump issued a statement calling the move a “politically motivated witch hunt.”

He described the raid as “an attack by radical Left Democrats” that seeks to keep him off the ballot in 2024.

According to a Trafalgar Group survey, voters agree.

The Biden administration’s efforts against the 45th president have galvanized Republican voters looking forward to turning out for the midterm elections in November.

83 percent of Republicans surveyed said they now were more motivated to head to the polls in November, versus only 55 percent of Democratic voters.

Even more telling, more than 70 percent of those who expressed no party affiliation said the raid had made them more motivated to vote.

However, the poll suggests that it’s not because they’ve suddenly become more aware that Trump and the Republican Party are a “danger to democracy,” as CNN keeps repeatedly claiming.

When asked what they thought was the motivation behind the FBI raid, almost half of Americans overall felt it was the work of “Trump’s political enemies.”

Yet, when Democrat respondents are removed, the numbers are far worse.

Over three-quarters of Republicans surveyed (76.7 percent) and over half of the non-affiliated respondents (53.9 percent) said Trump’s political enemies were behind the raid.

Among Democrats, only about 12 percent (11.9) believe the action was political, while 70.5 percent said it was the result of “an impartial justice system.”

Meanwhile, the mainstream media is running damage control to shield Biden and the Democrats from blame.

In an editorial published Wednesday, The Washington Post’s august editors tried to flip the narrative on the raid.

Rather than decrying the precedent-setting raid on a former president’s home by armed federal agents, the Post blasted the Republican Party’s outraged response.

“Republicans are proclaiming outrage over the search, arguing that no president has ever been subjected to such a proceeding,” the Post proclaimed.

“They may be right.

“But then, no modern president has been the subject of as many and varied investigations as Mr. Trump — who invoked his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination in one of them on Wednesday.”

The Post was making a reference to Trump’s Fifth Amendment plea in New York on Wednesday.

As Slay News has been reporting, Trump was answering to an investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

James literally campaigned on a promise to find something, anything, to attack Trump for.

While ignoring the facts, the Post went on to advise: “For now, the prudent reaction to the search would be to await its tangible results.”

But as some of the social media responses to the Trafalgar poll showed, that horse has left the barn.

In response to the poll results, social media users were quick to point out that the FBI raid has backfired on the Democrats:

According to Trafalgar, the poll was taken Tuesday and Wednesday and involved 1,095 likely voters.

It had a margin of error of 2.9 percent.
