The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has called on global leaders to surrender their nations’ “pandemic” powers to the United Nations (UN) so that the unelected bureaucratic agency can supposedly fight so-called “Disease X.”
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the call while speaking at the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) annual summit in Davos, Switzerland this week.
While addressing world leaders, corporate elites, and globalist powermongers, Tedros urged the governments of sovereign nations to sign the WHO’s “Global Pandemic Treaty.”
However, as Slay News has reported, the treaty has major implications surrounding speech, surveillance, and digital vaccine passports.
The WHO’s proposed Pandemic Treaty and the amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR) give the globalist organization sweeping new powers that override the laws of sovereign nations.
Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration has confirmed that it is committed to surrendering America’s pandemic authority to the WHO in the “legally binding” accord.
In a press release last February, the Biden admin publicly affirmed the U.S. federal government’s commitment to the agreement.
The accord will give the Chinese Communist Party-linked WHO, the UN’s “health” agency, ultimate control over U.S. pandemic policies such as lockdowns, censorship, masking, vaccine mandates, and public surveillance.
The treaty will award the WHO with sweeping global powers if passed and will give the United Nations agency the authority to declare and manage the pandemic emergency policies of once-sovereign nations, as Slay News has previously reported.
Once a health emergency is declared by the World Health Organization, every signatory, including the United States, must submit to the authority of the WHO.
This includes caving to the WHO on treatments, lockdowns, vaccine mandates, and government surveillance.
Although the “Pandemic Treaty” suggests that it is meant to tackle virus outbreaks, the amendments have continued to expand its reach.
The definition of “pandemic,” according to the WHO, now includes “climate change.”
The treaty gives the WHO ultimate control over individual nations to declare an “emergency” and then dictate the response.
Should the WHO declare an “emergency” over “global warming,” the UN “health” agency would be able to override the laws of sovereign nations to enforce “climate lockdowns.”
During a speech at the WEF summit in Davos, WHO Chief Tedros emphasized the importance of international cooperation under a single global authority.
He pointed out the potential obstacles posed by an overemphasis on national interests.
Tedros took part in a session titled “Disease X” at the forum where he underscored what he believes to be the critical importance of being more prepared for potential future pandemics.
Tedros backed the adoption of the WHO Pandemic Treaty, viewing it as a necessary tool for enhancing our understanding of such diseases.
Addressing the Davos audience, Tedros stated, “This is about a common enemy.
“Without a shared response, we will face the same problem as Covid.”
He identified “Disease X” as a placeholder term that could be used to encompass yet unknown diseases and reiterated the importance of continued research and development for treatments.
Earlier this week, the WHO worked with the WEF to advocate for the implementation of the Global Pandemic Treaty.
The treaty, backed by the European Union (EU), aims to strengthen global resilience to future pandemics and already has plans to introduce a digital vaccine passport by this Spring.
With a deadline of May 2024, the WHO, along with support from the EU, is working toward a binding agreement among the United Nations member states to facilitate global participation.
Tedros remarked, “The importance of a legally binding instrument cannot be overstated: it will be our collective legacy for future generations.”
The pressure from Tedros comes as concerns mount that the WHO’s parent agency, the United Nations, is trying to position itself as an unelected single-world government.
The UN is preparing to massively expand its powers and is planning to unveil proposals for the unprecedented expansion of its influence during the upcoming “Summit of the Future” conference in 2024.
The summit seeks to unveil plans for meeting the WEF’s “Agenda 2030” goals.
Included in the proposals are policies that would grant the organization an “emergency platform” during “global crisis” events.
Such “crises” would be determined by the UN itself and “emergencies” would be declared by the agency.
Should a global “emergency” be declared by the UN, it would enable the agency to deploy “emergency powers” to meet “climate change” goals or enforce restrictions during, or even before, pandemics.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has been preparing a proposal to tackle so-called “future pandemic risk” – rather than waiting for an actual pandemic.
Under the plan, the UN would be able to exercise its sweeping powers if it claims it is acting to prevent something from happening.
Elsewhere in the UN’s proposal are calls for mandatory globalized “digital IDs” linked to individuals’ bank accounts that are supposedly designed to help meet the “sustainability goals” of “Net Zero.”
As Slay News previously reported, Guterres demands in the “Our Common Agenda” report that all individuals under the UN’s control would have a digital ID that is linked to their bank account.
