The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the public must prepare for a new disease to emerge that is “even deadlier” than Covid.
WHO Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus issued the warning at the World Health Assembly forum on Monday.
According to Tedros, global governments cannot risk assuming that the threat of another public health crisis is “down the road,” insisting that the next “deadlier” virus is looming.
Despite the darkest days of the pandemic being behind us, Tedros also claims that a doomsday Covid variant with the power to send the world back to square one could still spawn.
During the globalist event in Geneva, Switzerland, Dr. Tedros said: “The threat of another variant emerging that causes new surges of disease and death remains.
“And the threat of another pathogen emerging with even deadlier potential remains.”
Global leaders and power elites have been gathering for the World Health Assembly, an annual meeting of the WHO’s 194 member states.
Tedros was speaking as the WHO unveiled a new global scheme to spot and track the most dangerous pathogens.
No specific diseases were named.
However, “Disease X” is on the UN agency’s list of pressing threats.
“Disease X” is a placeholder given to a devastating pathogen not yet discovered.
Dr. Tedros’s comments come after the WHO declared earlier this month that Covid was no longer a public health emergency of international concern.
Instead, the virus is now considered an “established and ongoing health issue”.
It marked a major step and came three years after a cluster of Chinese residents in the city of Wuhan came down with a mysterious illness in December 2019.
At the WHA’s 76th meeting, the WHO launched the International Pathogen Surveillance Network (IPSN).
It will give all nations access to genomic sequencing to identify and respond to emerging disease threats using genomics.
Genomics – the study of the genetic material found in a virus – helps scientists spot mutations that can make a pathogen more infectious or deadly.
Scientists can then develop treatments and vaccines that work against them, while nations can mount a timely response.
The IPSN will see researchers, governments, charitable foundations, and the private sector work together to monitor bugs.
During the event, Tedros evoked “woke” messaging and suggested future pandemics must incorporate the Marxist ideology of “equity.”
Not to be confused with “equality,” far-left “equity” ideology states that certain races, gender identities, and minority groups must be given an advantage over others.
Dr. Tedros said: “We cannot kick this can down the road.
“When the next pandemic comes knocking – and it will – we must be ready to answer decisively, collectively, and equitably.”
