‘Woke’ Employee Fired for Refusing to Work While ‘Mourning’ Roe v. Wade

A “woke” employee has been fired after he refused to work while “mourning” the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade abortion ruling.

In a statement on social media, Michael Lopez, a now-former production coordinator at Universal Music Enterprises, announced that he lost his job for refusing to work.

Lopez had told his employers in an email that was neglecting his duties because of the SCOTUS ruling.

While explaining to his bosses why he wouldn’t do his work, Lopez refused to use the word “women,” claiming the Supreme Court ruling was an “attack on people with uteruses.”

In a lengthy post on his LinkedIn account, Lopez claimed his firing was motivated by racism and homophobia because it was done during Pride Month.

Lopez accused his former bosses of being “anti-gay” for firing a “queer brown person” for “speaking up in defense of abortion rights.”

“Last Friday, like countless other folks, I was devastated by the news of the Supreme Court’s attack on abortion rights,” Lopez said on LinkedIn.

“Paired with the flood of anti-queer and anti-trans legislation, it’s been hard to process how company’s [sic] expect us to be productive while our rights are being stripped away.”

Lopez went rogue and shared that he sent an email saying, “I didn’t do them today,” rather than completing the standard process reports as required.

“Every Friday, one of my tasks was to process reports for upcoming releases,” he explained.

“This is an email list that goes out to 275 people.

“I don’t know who’s on it, I just knew it was the email list with the most people that I had access to.”

Here’s an excerpt from his email:

I didn’t do them today.

I’m in mourning due to the attack on people with uteruses in the US. Federally guaranteed access to abortion is gone.

Vivendi and  must stop donating to anti-abortion, anti-queer and anti-trans politicians. Politicians like Marsha Blackburn, Ken Buck, Victoria Spartz, etc. Or expect more unproductive days.

Yours in fury,
-Michael Lopez
