Celebrity Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has said that she wants to sell her expensive Tesla after Elon Musk mocked her on Twitter.
AOC told Bloomberg in an interview Wednesday that she wants to switch to an electronic car that is made domestically by unionized workers.
Currently, the only such vehicles she could consider are Ford’s huge F-150 Lightning truck, which will be released later this year, or a Chevy Bolt.
The New York congresswoman told the outlet that she purchased her Model 3 in 2020 around the time that the COVID-19 pandemic began.
AOC said that it was the only electric car that could get her from her Bronx-Queens district to the nation’s capital on “one, or one-and-half charges.”
However, after Musk teased her online, the champagne socialist now wants rid of her Tesla, which would sell for around $46,990 today.
“At the time, it was the only EV that could get me from New York to Washington on like one, or one-and-a-half charges,” AOC told Bloomberg News this week.
“I would love to switch.”
“He’s a billionaire,” AOC said of Musk’s recent announcement that he “will vote Republican”.
“I could care less what he thinks.”
Last month, Musk teased the far-Left lawmaker after she complained online about billionaires for the umpteenth time.
“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk tweeted at AOC.
The message was in reference to Ocasio-Cortez claiming her detractors actually just want to date her.
“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet,” Ocasio-Cortez said of critics last year.
“Ya creepy weirdos.”
“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women, & LGBT+ people in general,” she added.
“These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s rant about Republicans and their “sexual frustrations” came after she was spotted dining out, mask-free, in Miami Beach as COVID-19 cases spiked in her district.
