In the wake of his disastrous presidential debate performance, a growing number of the Democrats’ allies in the corporate media are calling on President Joe Biden to call it a day and retire.
Democrat-friendly media outlets were disappointed by what they had witnessed Thursday night as President Donald Trump tore Biden to shreds on stage.
Now, another major media institution has just called on the 81-year-old president to step down.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution followed in the footsteps of The New York Times and implored Biden to call it quits.
The newspaper used a front-page editorial to call on Biden to hang it up and give a younger, fresher candidate a chance, according to the New York Post.
The newspaper, which is considered a stalwart friend of the current administration, was one of many to call Biden out for not inspiring Americans that he’s ready to hold down another four years in the White House.

“The unfortunate truth is that Biden should withdraw from the race, for the good of the nation he has served so admirably for half a century,” the newspaper’s editorial board wrote.
It added that it believed Biden’s debate performance was “excruciating.”
The paper pointed out that Biden failed to convince the public of his visions for a second term.
The Post noted:
The editorial board didn’t even touch on the incumbent’s series of gaffes — which included saying his son Beau, who died from cancer in the US, “died in Iraq” and that he “beat Medicare.”
The president has shown clear signs of the early stages of decline, the board wrote.
“The shade of retirement is now necessary for President Biden,” the paper noted.
However, multiple reports are describing how difficult it would be to replace Biden with a new candidate at this point in time.
The obstacles in such a move scare some within the party from considering it.
The AJC pointed out that issue, highlighting legal battles Democrats could face in replacing Biden.
While the left-leaning newspaper admitted that it would “require a massive and unprecedented string of legal and regulatory actions” to have Biden bow out and name a successor, it emphasized that the Democrats have a plethora of viable candidates to choose from.
The paper added, “Biden deserves a better exit from public life than the one he endured when he shuffled off the stage Thursday night.”
So far, Biden’s White House has insisted that he will stay in the race until November.
However, many believe that it’s just not possible at this point.
Nevertheless, despite the apparent “shock” from Democrats and the media, Biden’s mental decline has been on display for years.
If the Democrat elite didn’t want the American people to see his condition, they would have kept trying to hide it.
The reality is, that the debate was most likely meant to expose Biden’s degraded state.
His replacement would have been chosen a long time ago.
The only question remains who it will be?
