Democrat President Joe Biden’s new “Disinformation Governance Board” has just appointed a radical George Soros operative as its co-chair.
The new censorship board leader, Jennifer Daskal, is a long-time Soros operative with at least three known connections to the leftist billionaire.
Daskal previously served as a fellow of Soros’ Open Society Institute where she was “working on issues related to privacy and law enforcement access to data across borders.”
Daskal also worked as senior counterterrorism counsel for the anti-Semitic Human Rights Watch.
HRW received at least $32,106,746 from Soros between 2000 and 2014 alone.
Daskal was also the founding editor of the Soros-funded Just Security blog.
Soros’ Open Society Foundations gave $675,000 to Just Security between 2017 and 2019, accoridng to News Busters.
Daskal’s involvement with the Orwellian censorship board fits right in with the Soros agenda.
Soros has been involved in funding a litany of so-called fact-checking operations, making the revelation of Daskal’s Soros-tie par for the course.
Soros cash recipients include The Poynter Institute’s left-wing International Fact-Checking Network, which decried YouTube’s “insufficient” censorship, and the U.K.-based Full Fact, which tried to swat down the idea of COVID-19 leaking from a lab in February 2020 while knowledge of the pathogen was still rare.
The fact that Soros has one of his former fellows leading Biden’s government-sanctioned Ministry of Truth should concern every American citizen.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated during a congressional hearing that “[o]ur Undersecretary for Policy Rob Silvers is co-chair with our Principal Deputy General Counsel Jennifer Daskal, in leading a just recently constituted a misinformation/disinformation governance board.”
This indicates that Daskal will be exerting considerable influence over the Disinformation Governance Board policies going forward.
It’s as if the pro-Critical Race Theory and self-proclaimed “Mary Poppins of disinformation” Nina Jankowicz being named the taxpayer-funded censorship board’s executive director wasn’t cringe enough.

Daskal’s role at Soros’s foundations included researching the problem of how “companies—the new gatekeepers—are increasingly playing a key, and largely unregulated, role in determining when and under what circumstances data should be turned over to investigating officials.”
A 2017 New York Times article referred to Just Security contributors as the “more liberal counterparts” to writers for the Lawfare blog.
To illustrate how left-wing Just Security is, the outlet published a blog exploiting the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riot to slam American police as being associated with white nationalism.
The blog, headlined, “The Failure to Police White Nationalism is a Feature, Not a Bug of American Policing,” even called for defunding the police:
This country must fundamentally rethink the role that policing plays in our society in light of its historical association with white nationalism and racial exclusion by reckoning with the racialized history of policing, reducing our reliance on police, diverting funding from police to vital public programs, and ensuring accountability for law enforcement entities that engage in wrongdoing, [emphasis added.]
The Disinformation Governance Board has been nicknamed the “Ministry of Truth” as the entity takes the struggle between free speech and censorship online to the next level.
President Donald Trump condemned the nascent totalitarianism of the censorship board, calling it “a horrible thing.”
Even Politico senior media writer Jack Shafer slammed the creation of the censorship board:
Who among us thinks the government should add to its work list the job of determining what is true and what is disinformation?
And who thinks the government is capable of telling the truth?
Our government produces lies and disinformation at industrial scale and always has.
It overclassifies vital information to block its own citizens from becoming any the wiser.
It pays thousands of press aides to play hide the salami with facts.
