Bill Maher and Kellyanne Conway Accuse NYT of Covering for Democrats: ‘This Kind of Thing Drives America Crazy’

Bill Maher and Kellyanne Conway have accused the New York Times of covering for the Democratic Party by burying negative stories about Democrats.

During Maher’s HBO show “Real Time,” the two blasted the NYT for ignoring the story about the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

They noted that the newspaper “buried” reports on Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) “very inflammatory words” toward Justices Kavanaugh and Gorsuch.

During a discussion about inflammatory remarks from Democrats, Maher and Conway suggested Schumer have “inspired” Kavanaugh’s attacker.

“The New York Times buried this,” Maher said.

“If this had been a liberal Supreme Court justice that someone came to kill, it would have been on the front page.”

“And that’s what’s so disappointing about a paper like The New York Times because they just wear their bias on their sleeves, and if it’s not part of something that feeds our narrative, f*ck it, we bury it,” Maher said.

Conway, President Donald Trump’s former White House counselor, agreed.

She called out Democrats for delaying a vote on a bill to give protection to Supreme Court justices.

The bill was eventually passed by the Senate unanimously.

“This is the kind of thing that drives America crazy when Washington can’t do something as simple as pass a law that we should all agree with just to beef up their security,” Conway said.

In March 2020, during a speech at a pro-abortion rally, Chuck Schumer said:

“Now, we stand here today because behind me, inside the walls of this court, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments, as you know, for the first major abortion rights cases since Kavanaugh and Gorsuch came to the bench.

“We know what’s at stake.

“Over the last three years, women’s reproductive rights have come under attack in a way we haven’t seen in modern history.

“From Louisiana to Missouri, to Texas, Republican legislatures are waging a war on women, all women, and they’re taking away fundamental rights.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price.

“You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” he said.
