The Buffalo Bills provided an update on Damar Hamlin’s condition and revealed that the NFL star is now showing “signs of improvement.”
Hamlin shocked the nation when he collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field Monday night.
As fans and players from both teams watched in agony, Hamlin was given CPR for multiple minutes on the field.
As Slay News reported, Hamlin was resuscitated twice after his heart stopped.
He was taken to the hospital and placed in the ICU where he was intubated and sedated.
The players were too shaken to continue and the game was suspended.
The Bills said today:
“Damar remains in the ICU in critical condition with signs of improvement noted yesterday and overnight.
“He is expected to remain under intensive care as his health care team continues to monitor and treat him.”
On Tuesday the Bills said: “We are grateful and thankful for the outpouring of support.
“Damar Hamlin spent last night in the intensive care unit and remains there today in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
“We are grateful and thankful for the outpouring of support we have received thus far.”
NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent said the league does not have a solution for replaying the game yet.
“We have not had that discussion,” Vincent said.
“We have literally just constantly talking to the clubs and in particular, the Bills.
“It’s really important that we just keep the pulse of the coach and the players and don’t get in front of that.
“We’ll allow Bills head coach Sean McDermott and his team and his staff and the players which are the most important thing here to guide us if we have to make that decision, collectively with the club and what’s best for Sean and his team and the players.”
“Everything is being considered,” he said including changing schedules, pushing back the playoffs a week, or eliminating the bye week ahead of the Super Bowl.
He said: “Those guiding principles that took us into the 2020 season with Covid, all of those things will be things that guide us through this conversation and making sure the proper equity is in place.
“It may not be perfect but it will allow those that are participating who have earned that right to play to continue to play.”
