Corporate Media Calls for ‘Blackouts’ to ‘Solve Climate Change’

Green agenda alarmists in the corporate media are now calling for widespread electrical grid blackouts for “the greater good” of “solving the climate crisis.”

In an article from the Los Angeles Times, the establishment media outlet argues that it would be “easier and less expensive to fight climate change” if the public would “be willing to live with” blackouts.

In the LA Times piece, writer Sammy Roth questioned what is more critical, “Keeping the lights on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, or solving the climate crisis?”

The push from the corporate media outlet aligns with the radical green agenda goals of Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration.

Led by jet-setting “climate czar” John Kerry, the Biden admin has been advocating the globalist goals of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the United Nations (UN) to supposedly “fight global warming.”

On Day One of his presidency, Biden signed devastating anti-energy independence executive orders to further advance the green agenda.

The move has seen gas and energy prices soar while also disrupting the food supply.

Kerry has followed up by launching an attack against the agriculture industry to allegedly “fight emissions” produced by food production.

As Slay News reported, the United States is one of 13 major nations to sign an international agreement to crack down on farming.

The signing of the Global Methane Pledge is expected to have a significant impact on the global food supply, especially meat and dairy products.

As with most proposals designed to meet the globalist goals of the WEF, the UN, and their allies in the Biden admin, they typically result in the public losing some quality of life.

Aside from soaring energy and food prices, green agenda advocates in the liberal corporate media are now calling for the public to put up with rolling blackouts to “save the planet.”

The calls come as climate activists push for power plants to be shut down in California.

Lawyers representing the Sierra Club and the California city of Glendale have been providing arguments over whether to continue operations on a gas-fired power plant located across the Los Angeles River.

The city has argued the plant is needed to avoid blackouts and catastrophes for its nearly 200,000 residents.

The LA Times argues that the courtroom contention is a “highly technical dispute” and part of a larger conversation about how much “blackout risk” is considered “acceptable” in society.

Additionally, the piece questioned if society’s expectations should “evolve” in the name of “preventing climate catastrophe.”

Experts have long been warning that California’s electric grid faces years of potential blackouts and failure as state leaders continue pushing aggressive measures to transition to renewable energy sources.

The state’s grid, which is still mainly powered by fossil fuels, is shifting significantly from natural gas and coal to unreliable renewable power like wind and solar.

As part of his research, LA Times reporter Sammy Roth asked Twitter users whether society could start cutting gas sooner.

He argued that they could save money by “accepting a few more blackouts” over the next several years.

“Of the hundreds of people who responded to my question, most rejected the idea that more power outages are even remotely acceptable — for reasons beyond mere convenience,” Roth admitted.

For example, a former member of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s board of commissioners, Aura Vasquez, told Roth that “someone dies every time we have a power outage.”

Similarly, John Moura, director of reliability assessment and performance analysis at North American Electric Reliability Corp., said blackouts are “not really about keeping the light on.”

“It’s about keeping people alive,” he said.

Despite these concerns, Roth said he has increasingly concluded that “solving climate issues” will “require sacrifices” to provide for “the greater good.”

Such sacrifices, he hypothesized, could include driving less, eating less meat, accepting large-scale solar farms that will destroy some wildlife habitat, and eating the cost of expensive rooftop paneling.

Following the widespread pushback on social media, Roth argued that “we might not have a choice” when it comes to “learning to live with more power outages.”

Many social media users ridiculed the piece for considering the idea of orchestrated blackouts to curtail “climate change.”

Rebutting the train of thought, media strategist and journalist Gabriella Hoffman wrote, “Ironically, it is actually net-zero policies – or decarbonization pushes – that lead to grid instability, energy insecurity, and blackouts.”

Junk Science Founder Steve Milloy called the article “peak climate idiocy.”

Energy-related public policy analyst David Blackmon claimed the article was part of a “propaganda campaign” designed to “condition” people to believe they have no choice but to live with and accept frequent blackouts.

He also suggested the LA Times was finally saying “the quiet part out loud.”

“This is classic religious cult propaganda,” Blackmon added.

“We have seen it a thousand times down through history.

“And it appears the entirety of our legacy media is totally down with it.”

Climate analyst Ryan Maue also weighed in on the article with a simple “Yikes!”

The news comes as unelected bureaucratic globalist bodies, including the WEF, UN, and World Health Organization (WHO), continue to aggressively push their radical green agenda onto sovereign nations.

As we’ve seen repeatedly, “fighting global warming” involves stripping the taxpaying public of their rights and slashing their quality of life by pushing false claims of an alleged “climate crisis.”

However, as Slay News recently reported, one of the world’s leading experts has just spoken out to warn the public that the “climate crisis” narrative is a hoax.

Dr. John Clauser, the co-winner of the 2022 Nobel Physics prize and one the world’s leading authorities on quantum mechanics, blasted “climate emergency” claims as a “dangerous corruption of science that threatens the world’s economy and the well-being of billions of people.”

Clauser, who was also awarded the 2010 Wolf Prize in Physics, the second most prestigious physics award after the Nobel, warns that misguided climate science is a hoax that is being driven by “massive shock-journalistic pseudoscience.”

Meanwhile, powerful elites like John Kerry and his globalist allies promoting the green agenda will continue to fly around in private jets and eat meat because they claim to be “part of the solution.”
