A California Democrat has thrown his support behind calls from the Biden administration to ban gas stoves from American homes by claiming that the appliances are causing “cardiac problems.”
As Slay News reported earlier, the Biden admin is considering a nationwide ban on gas stoves over claims they emit “harmful pollutants.”
According to a report by Bloomberg, Biden officials claim that a ban on the appliances being used in American homes “is on the table.”
The far-reaching admission was made by U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) commissioner Richard Trumka Jr.
Trumka reportedly told Bloomberg that gas stove appliances are a “hidden hazard” that “can be banned.”
“Any option is on the table,” Trumka told the outlet during an interview.
California Democrat State Senator Scott Weiner put out a statement on Twitter saying he is in favor of the ban.
“Gas stoves are toxic to people’s health,” he alleged.
“They cause asthma in children, cardiac problems & other disease,” Weiner claimed, without evidence.

Radical Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also responded by taking to social media to speak out in support of a ban on gas stoves in American homes.
Ocasio-Cortez argues, without evidence, that gas stoves cause brain damage.

Not everyone is supportive of the idea, however.
Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis fired back at the Biden admin over the news.
He argued that the Biden admin is considering the ban to meet the “green agenda” goals of Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum (WEF).
“You see, the Biden administration wants to nix gas stoves,” Gov. DeSantis said during a press conference in Bonita Springs, Florida.
“Are you kidding me?
“I want gas stoves,” DeSantis added.
“How many people had the hurricane come through, didn’t have power right away, but were able to turn on [their stove]?”

DeSantis may have a point, however.
While the Democrats have suddenly turned against gas stoves, seemingly from nowhere, the WEF has been campaigning against them for some time.
In February last year, the WEF published an article arguing that gas stoves are a “climate threat” that should be “phased out.”
In the article, which makes comments that are eerily similar to those of AOC and Wiener, the WEF claims that “gas stoves have been found to be a bigger contributor to the climate crisis than previously believed.”
The WEF quotes Sane Energy community engagement coordinator Lee Ziesche, who reportedly warned CNN about the “threat” from gas stoves.
“This new study confirms what environmental advocates have been saying for over a decade now, that there is no [such thing as] clean gas — not for our homes, not for our communities, and not for the climate,” Ziesche said.
“From the drilling well to the stoves in our kitchens, fracked gas is harming our health and warming the planet.”
The WEF goes on to claim that emissions from gas stoves were likely 15 percent higher than the EPA estimate from 2019.
