Elon Musk Puts Leftist Groups on Notice over Twitter Boycott, Warns of ‘Tortious Interference’ Lawsuit

Elon Musk has put “woke” activists on notice after several leftist groups started a pressure campaign to get advertisers to boycott Twitter.

As Slay News reported, several activists and media groups, many of which are funded by radical billionaire George Soros, launched a new effort to pressure Twitter’s top advertisers into forcing Musk to censor users.

Last Tuesday, 40 media propaganda and pressure groups wrote a letter to major companies that advertise on Twitter, demanding that they boycott the platform.

The groups are demanding that companies force Musk to enforce the platform’s old censorship practices by threatening to pull their advertising if the new owner and CEO refuses to comply.

Musk hinted that his team has been investigating filing a lawsuit for “tortious interference” claims after the groups acted as a third party to sabotage Twitter’s contracts with its advertisers, causing the company financial damages.

In a post last week, Musk blamed the groups for causing a “massive drop in revenue,” saying:

“Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists.

“Extremely messed up!

“They’re trying to destroy free speech in America,” he added.

A Twitter user said to Musk: “You have nearly 114,000,000 Twitter followers.

“Name and shame the advertisers who are succumbing to the advertiser boycotts.

“So we can counter-boycott them.

Musk said: “Thank you. A thermonuclear name & shame is exactly what will happen if this continues.”

Activists from organizations including GLAAD, the Anti-Defamation League, NAACP, and Voto Latino have been pressuring advertisers to pull ads from Twitter.

Enter Tom Fitton, the president of the political watchdog group Judicial Watch, who said:

“I wonder if @ElonMusk’s @Twitter has tortious interference claims against the Left activist groups which are causing damaging advertiser boycotts of the platform?”

Musk responded with a warning to the groups:

“We do.”

Musk also outlined his plans for Twitter:

“My commitment to free speech extends even to not banning the account following my plane, even though that is a direct personal safety risk

“Twitter needs to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world.

“That’s our mission.

“Widespread verification will democratize journalism & empower the voice of the people.

“Search within Twitter reminds me of Infoseek in ‘98!

“That will also get a lot better pronto.

“Twitter will soon add ability to attach long-form text to tweets, ending absurdity of notepad screenshots.”
