Elon Musk has set Mark Ruffalo straight about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) after the “woke” Hollywood actor sided with the Democrat congresswoman and blasted the way he runs Twitter.
AOC has been melting down over Musk’s plans to charge users for the coveted blue checkmarks on their accounts.
The blue verification badges have previously only been offered to celebrities and public figures but Musk has opened up the program so that anyone can apply for $8 per month.
“Woke” celebrities have been outraged that they will lose their “lords and peasants” status on Twitter and have been attacking Musk over the changes.
AOC, one of the more vocal critics, has been spreading conspiracy theories that Musk has been restricting her account.
“Yo @elonmusk while I have your attention, why should people pay $8 just for their app to get bricked when they say something you don’t like?” AOC tweeted.
“This is what my app has looked like ever since my tweet upset you yesterday.
“What’s good? Doesn’t seem very free speechy to me.”
Leftist actor Ruffalo responded to AOC’s complaints by attacking Musk, presumably assuming everything the lawmaker said was true.
“Elon,” Ruffalo tweeted.
“Please—for the love of decency—get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX.
“You are destroying your credibility.
“It’s just not a good look.”
Musk responded with:

Maybe so. That’s why having robust filters for dis/misinformation & credible verified users has been a popular feature for people & advertisers alike. We need those safeguards to make sure it’s accurate information, or the app loses credibility, as do you. And people leave.

Musk feuded with AOC earlier.
“Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit,” Musk said.
“Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.
“Price adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity
“You will also get: Priority in replies, mentions & search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam.
“Ability to post long video & audio. Half as many ads.”
AOC said:
“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan.”
Musk said: “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8”
The new Twitter owner then mocked “socialist” AOC by sharing a screenshot of her overpriced merchandise.
