Former NFL star Korey Cunningham has died suddenly at just 28 years old, according to reports.
Cunningham was found dead at his home in New Jersey on Friday.
His death was announced by his former team, the New York Giants.
The team released a statement remembering the former offensive tackle as a “vital part” of the locker room.
The statement reads:
“We are saddened to hear of the passing of Korey Cunningham.
“He was a vital part of the spirit and camaraderie of the locker room.
“Our thoughts are with Korey’s family, friends and teammates.”
Cunningham’s death was first reported by RLS Media.

According to the report, emergency services responded to a residence in Clifton, New Jersey, at around 3:30 p.m.
The call was in response to reports of an unconscious man.
No cause of death has been made public.
A star left tackle at Cincinnati, Cunningham was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
During his rookie season, he started in six games.
Cunningham was later traded to the New England Patriots.

He played for two seasons with the Patriots before signing with the Giants in 2021.
On March 17, 2022, the Giants re-signed Cunningham.
On July 22, 2022, his contract was terminated due to a non-football injury.
On October 18, 2022, the Giants signed Cunningham to their practice squad.
On November 23, 2022, Cunningham was elevated from the practice squad for the week 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
He signed a reserve/future contract on January 22, 2023.
Cunningham was released on August 27, 2023.
He did not play last season.
Cunningham appeared in 31 NFL games throughout his career.
