Gavin Newsom Demands DOJ Charges DeSantis with ‘Kidnapping’ for Sending Migrants to Martha’s Vineyard

California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom is demanding that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) charges Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis with “kidnapping” for sending migrants to liberal elite playground Martha’s Vineyard.

Newsom has called on the DOJ to investigate DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to see if they can be charged with kidnapping for sending migrants to other parts of the country.

In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Newsom wrote: “Like millions of Americans I have been horrified at the images of migrants being shipped on buses and planes across the country.

“Clearly transporting families, including children, across lines under false pretenses is morally reprehensible, but may also be illegal.

“Several of the individuals who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard have alleged that a recruiter induced them to accept the offer of travel based on false representations that they would be transported to Boston and would receive expedited access to work authorization.

“Accordingly, I strongly urge the US Department of Justice to open an investigation into possible criminal or civil violations based on this alleged fraudulent scheme.

“In particular, I urge DOJ to investigate whether the alleged fraudulent inducement would support charges of kidnapping under relevant state laws, which could serve as a predicate offense under the RICO laws.”

As Slay News reported, DeSantis fired back at his critics and landed a knock-out blow.

“Biden would fly people in the middle of the night, dump them all across this country, there was no warning on any of this,” the governor noted.

“They’re doing it and they’re farming people out all around.

“They are also doing things like — so, you know, we’ve had people right on the border helping working ways, they were dumped in San Antonio and these people have, you know, they’re basically just there, and a lot of them end up migrating to different parts.

“But it’s harder for us to stop a onesie-twosie coming into Florida because I don’t know if you’re just driving a normal car and you have one or two people in it who were illegal.

“You can’t determine that on the front end.

“You can do if there’s large movement or caravans or buses, but we haven’t had that, partially because Governor Abbott is bussing to New York City and D.C.

“We take what’s happening at the southern border very seriously, unlike some, unlike the president of the United States who has refused to lift a finger to secure that border.

“We are not a sanctuary state. It’s better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction, and, yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures.”
