New data from the Japanese government shows that Japan’s population is continuing to spiral into an unsustainable meltdown.
Japan’s birth data for 2023 has just been published by the government and it shows the shocking crisis of the nation’s falling population appears to be accelerating.
As Slay News has previously reported, experts had already been warning that Japan was facing a critical situation as birth rates have been plummeting to unsustainable levels.
The data for 2022 revealed that the ratio of births to deaths had reached a point that is a long way from the level that is required to maintain a stable population.
Experts are now raising the alarm over concerns that the nation’s shrinking population will become too small to support Japan’s economy.
Last year, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida warned that Japan is now “on the brink of not being able to maintain social functions.”
The country saw just 799,728 births in 2022.
However, this number has fallen again in 2023.
Last year, only 758,631 babies were born in Japan.
The number of births also includes foreigners in Japan and Japanese living abroad.
Additionally, the shocking figures also revealed that Japan suffered a whopping 1,574,865 deaths during the same period – double the number of births.

For a population of around 125 million, losing close to a million people every year is unsustainable.
On Thursday, X boss Elon Musk raised the alarm about the figures in a post on the platform.

The troubling data comes after Japan has been suffering from soaring excess deaths.
As Slay News reported last year, Japan recorded a staggering 210,000 excess deaths.
The figure is the highest number of excess deaths the country has seen since World War II.
A growing number of experts believe the country’s vaccine mandates and the rollout of mRNA Covid shots are directly linked to the soaring excess deaths.
Japanese lawmaker Mr. Yanagase Hirofumi accused the Japanese government of covering up COVID-19 mRNA vaccine injuries and deaths.
Hirofumi is a high-profile Japanese politician who serves as a member of the House of Councillors of Japan.
In March 2023, during an explosive speech before Japan’s parliament, the National Diet, Hirofumi revealed the shocking number of excess deaths the country has recorded.
After revealing the bombshell numbers, Hirofumi asserted that “Covid didn’t cause so many more deaths.”
He then continued to explain that investigations have determined that the excess deaths are “suspected to be caused by adverse reactions to the Covid vaccine.”
