Mike Tyson Comes to Trump’s Defense: ‘I Don’t Think He Should Go to Jail’

Legendary professional boxer Mike Tyson has spoken out in defense of President Donald Trump by saying that his long-time friend should not go to jail.

Tyson was responding to the politically-motivated charges against Trump from George Soros operative Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney.

“I think politics is what politics are,” Tyson said.

“They have agendas and that’s…it doesn’t have to be a bad agenda but it’s an agenda.

“I don’t know…I don’t think he should go to jail.

“I don’t know, I’m not a politician.

“I don’t want anyone to go to jail.

“I don’t know, I like to keep my opinions to myself because people get upset but I like him personally.

“I’ve known Trump for over 30 years,” Tyson said.

“I don’t have the same perspective as everyone else. I have a human perspective.”

There are multiple media reports claiming that DA Bragg is facing backlash from within his department over his “get Trump” case.

Bragg is also struggling to get the Grand Jury to vote to charge Trump.

What we know is the Grand Jury is meeting today but, according to CNBC, it is for a different case.

According to CNBC:

The grand jury is scheduled to resume its work at noon, but it appears likely to hear evidence on a different case other than the case involving the hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels by Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen, NBC News reported.

While the situation is still fluid, three people familiar with the matter said the panel may not work on the Trump payoff probe until Monday.

The grand jury was given off Wednesday, despite an earlier expectation that it would take up the Trump case after a scheduled break Tuesday.

The reason for the latest scheduling choices is unclear.

The grand jury’s proceedings are secret.

The panel began meeting in January to hear testimony as part of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation of a 2016 hush money payment to a porn star who alleges she had a tryst with Trump.

According to The Daily Mail:

Meanwhile, the Manhattan district attorney’s office offered no explanation for canceling the Wednesday hearing, but Trump supporters were quick to claim it meant the case was in difficulty.

‘They are having trouble convincing the jury to swallow the case. It’s a weak case and has caused divisions in the DA’s office,’ said a source.

Other reports suggested the DA’s office could be contemplating a change of strategy.

The grand jury meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, but postponements are not unusual and jurors are warned to expect last-minute changes.
