Ted Cruz: Kamala Harris’ ‘Softball’ Interview with CNN’s Dana Bash Is ‘Propaganda’

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has blasted Kamala Harris for setting up a “softball” sitdown with CNN’s Dana Bash as the Democrat presidential nominee’s first interview with the media since launching her campaign.

Cruz noted that the interview will be re-planned, pre-recorded, and edited to remove the “word salad” and “things that are dumb” that Harris says.

The senator argues that the interview is “propaganda” that only serves to further gaslight the American people.

As Slay News reported earlier, Harris provoked a backlash over the interview after her campaign announced that her running mate Tim Walz would be joining her.

CNN political commentator Scott Jennings said that it was “incredibly weak” that Harris could not do the interview by herself.

He noted that it shows the party does not have confidence in her.

Cruz said on his “Verdict” podcast this week that it is not even an interview.

The senator said it is “propaganda” because the person hosting it, CNN’s Dana Bash, is a left-wing partisan.

“It is astonishing that the interview is not Kamala Harris, but it’s Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” he said.

“And presumably, Tim Walz is sitting there so if that Kamala is screwing up, Tim Walz can step in and try to bail her out.

“I have never seen in my life — I’m 10 years older than you are, I’m 53 — I have never once seen a presidential candidate who was so weak that he or she needed their vice presidential candidate as a safety blanket.

“That is bizarre,” Sen. Cruz asserted.

Cruz also slammed CNN for not airing the interview live and in its entirety.

“They’re going to pre-tape it, and then CNN is going to edit it,” he said.

“And I believe, and I think many Americans believe, CNN is going to edit it so if and when Kamala says things that are dumb, if and when she says some word salad, if and when there’s a moment that’s bad, they’ll cut it right out.”

Cruz said that Bash would have to act like a real journalist during the interview.

Otherwise, she will be viewed as “a laughingstock,” “a patsy,” “a spokesperson for the Harris campaign,” or “a total stooge,” he noted.
