Trump ‘Open’ to RFK Jr Joining His Administration

President Donald Trump has said that he is “open” to having independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. join his next administration.

Trump’s remarks come after Kennedy reportedly said he reached out to Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s “highest intermediaries.”

RFK Jr., a lifelong Democrat, said Harris’s team had “no interest in talking.”

Kennedy wanted to talk to Harris about dropping out of the race and endorsing her campaign.

In exchange, he wanted Harris to him a cabinet position.

However, Kennedy’s campaign is believed to be helping Harris.

Polling has shown that Kennedy draws more votes from Trump in some swing states.

Kennedy lashed out after being rejected and attacked Harris and the Democratic Party.

During a subsequent interview, Trump told CNN he likes and respects RFK Jr.

“He’s a brilliant guy,” Trump said of Kennedy.

“He’s a very smart guy.

“I’ve known him for a very long time.

“I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”

Trump said that he would “love” an endorsement from RFK Jr. because he’s “always liked” him.

He indicated that he “probably would” appoint Kennedy to a role in the administration.

Trump suggested that Kennedy would need to drop out and endorse him to secure a role.

“I like him a lot. I respect him a lot,” Trump said.

“I probably would, if something like that would happen.

“He’s a very different kind of a guy — a very smart guy.

“And, yeah, I would be honored by that endorsement, certainly.”

While Kennedy is a lifelong Democrat, he has attacked the party harder than he has the Republican Party throughout the election.

RFK Jr. continued those attacks on Tuesday when he called out the party for trying to rebrand itself as the “party of liberty.”

In a post on X, Kennedy said:

“Kamala Harris says that Americans should make personal decisions without the ‘government telling them what to do.’

“Tim Walz’s Golden Rule is ‘Mind your own damn business.’

“In view of the censorship, surveillance, vaccine mandates, and the confederacy of fixers openly working to prevent me from getting on ballots, this is like the arsonist telling us he’s a firefighter.”

As Slay News previously reported, Kennedy’s running mate Nicole Shanahan has revealed that the independent presidential candidate is considering plans to “join forces with Donald Trump” to stop the Democrats from winning the election in November.

Shanahan made the comments during an interview published on Tuesday.

According to Shanahan, RFK Jr. is currently weighing up two options, both of which seek to help President Trump beat Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her radical communist running mate Tim Walz.

During her interview on the Impact Theory podcast, which was recorded on Monday, Shanahan said:

“There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Karris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump.

“Or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump and you know, we walk away from that and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision,”  Shanahan continued.
