President Donald Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba has advised Gov. Ron DeSantis that he should “stay in Florida” and forget about running in 2024.
Habba made the comments ahead of Trump’s comeback announcement on November 15 at Mar-a-Lago.
As many wonder whether DeSantis will also run for the Republican nomination, Habba argues that the governor is “not ready yet.”
“I’m going to be making a very big announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Mar-a-Lago,” Trump said at a Monday night rally for Republican U.S. Senate candidate JD Vance in Dayton, Ohio.
“We want nothing to distract from the importance of tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is urging Trump to announce as soon as possible: “To all the press texting & calling me: Trump should announce tonight.
“His candidates won the primaries.
“Biden’s central message was the ‘ULTRA MAGA’ scare.
“And we are going to win BIGLY! Trump deserves all the credit for this wave election & announcing tonight he will seize it.”
Trump is the clear favorite to win the GOP nomination.
He may be unopposed by a real candidate but could face a doomed protest candidate like Liz Cheney.
There is also the chance, however small, that Trump may face a real challenge from Ron DeSantis or another credible name.
“DeSantis is DeSantis because of Trump,” Habba said on Right Side Broadcasting Network.
“He needs to stay in Florida.
“Just stay where you are,” she said.
“You are doing a great job in Florida.
“Don’t jump the gun.
“He’s not ready yet.”
