CNN’s Dom Lemon looks doomed at the network as the number of viewers for his new morning show just hit rock bottom.
Last week, CNN had its lowest ratings in nine years, according to the latest viewer numbers.
For the first time since May 2014, CNN didn’t attract 450,000 viewers.
For the week of January 16 through Jan. 22, 2023, the network averaged 444,000 viewers in primetime, 93,000 in the 25-54 age demographic, and 417,000 viewers for total day viewers with 80,000 in the demo.
Meanwhile, Fox News had 1.4 million viewers and 176,000 in the demo.
MSNBC had 629,000 and 69,000 in the demo.
In primetime, Fox News had 2 million viewers, 256,000 in the demo and MSNBC had 943,000 and 91,000 in the demo.
Yet Lemon got some terrible news as the figures show that his new morning show is a total bomb.
“CNN This Morning,” with Don Lemon, Poppy Harlow, and Kaitlan Collins hit rock bottom and had the rated lowest week since its launch.
It averaged only 331,000 viewers.
“Fox & Friends” had 1 million, while “Morning Joe” had 760,000.
CNN found a fall guy and reassigned a producer but the network will run out of those guys soon and start pointing fingers at the co-hosts.
According to MSN, “even hosts Lemon, Harlow and Collins seem to be growing frustrated” over where they are headed.
They know what happens if you don’t deliver the ratings in a ruthless business.
“The show can’t decide strategically what exactly it is, so it’s trying to be everything which can create whiplash for a viewer when segments seem off-brand in tonality,” a source told The Wrap.
“The audience for morning news on network TV is different than the cable news audience and since we’re not gaining new viewers we definitely need to retain our legacy ones”
