A large number of American people say they are expecting the Democrats to drop President Joe Biden as the candidate for the November election if he doesn’t win this week’s highly-anticipated first presidential debate.
According to a new poll from Rasmussen Reports, one-third of Democrat voters say they expect Biden will be dropped if President Donald Trump wins the debate.
They believe the debate is Biden’s “last chance” to prove himself as the Democrats’ best candidate to take on Trump in November.
However, voters from all sides say a loss by Biden could force the party to kick him off the 2024 ticket.
In addition, more Americans believe Biden will lose the debate to Trump.
More voters say Trump will emerge as the winner of the debate.
The poll includes slightly more Democrats than Republicans for its survey sample.
Nevertheless, likely voters see Trump beating Biden on the debate stage by a 47%-37% margin.
The age of the candidates is expected to have an impact, the poll reveals.
More voters viewed Biden’s recent bumbles and freezes as an indication of the hurdles he faces on the CNN debate stage on Thursday.
57% of respondents told Rasmussen that they believe Biden is “more likely to have problems in the debate because of his age.”
Just 32% said age will undermine Trump.
Trump is 78, and Biden is 81.
Tellingly, Democrats are split, 43%-43%, on the question of age.

Many Democrats have also said they wish Biden would step aside and let someone else run in his place.
Unfortunately, a large number of Democrats told Rasmussen that they believe the first presidential debate is Biden’s “last chance” to show some life in the campaign.
If he loses, 34% of Democrats said they believe Biden should be replaced on the ticket.
Overall, when all voters were asked if the debate was Biden’s last chance to prove he should be on the ticket, 47% agreed, and 39% didn’t.
The poll comes amid growing concerns about Biden’s fitness for office.
Multiple videos continue to emerge showing Biden apparently struggling with simple tasks while appearing lost and confused.
During a recent G7 meeting, a video shows Biden aimlessly wandering away from other leaders during a photo op.
Other world leaders appear to huddle around Biden to disguise the fact as they guide him back in line.

As Slay News has reported, rather than admit there’s a problem, however, the White House has resorted to calling the videos – real footage of Biden that hasn’t been altered but the Democrats don’t want voters to see – “cheap fakes,” a made-up phrase invented by the president’s handlers.
