Democrat President Joe Biden’s disgraced former Department of Energy (DOE) official Sam Brinton has been arrested as a “fugitive of justice,” according to reports.
35-year-old Brinton, who claims to be “non-binary” and uses “they/them” pronouns, was tapped by Biden for a key nuclear role before he was fired for repeatedly stealing women’s clothes.
However, as Slay News reported, Brinton got a slap on the wrist from a judge for stealing women’s luggage from airports.
He secured a sweet plea deal from prosecutors and was ordered to pay $3,670 to a victim and given a suspended sentence of 180 days in prison after pleading “no contest” to theft.
Yet, despite walking free on the luggage theft case, Brinton was arrested Wednesday night on new charges.
Montgomery County, Maryland, police arrested him at his home on Wednesday, police logs show.
He is currently in jail and being held without bond.
A neighbor told The Daily Wire that “four unmarked police showed up last night, they would not let his spouse Kevin leave.
“After about an hour Sam Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs.”
Brinton is set to appear for a hearing before Judge Victor Del Pino on Thursday afternoon.
Brinton’s arrest was at the request of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police, according to the Daily Mail.
It’s unclear if it relates to the two thefts he was previously arrested for or a separate incident.
“Brinton was arrested at approximately 10 p.m. last night in [his] home on College Parkway.
“[He is] being held in the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit on a no-bond status as [he] await[s] an extradition hearing,” a police spokesman told Daily Mail on Thursday.
The non-binary, drag-queen was fired after admitting to taking a stranger’s suitcase from the luggage carousel during a work trip in Minnesota.
The Biden administration had proudly announced Brinton’s hiring, one of the first “non-binary,” LGBTQ hires in government.
His role was in overseeing and advising on nuclear waste.
It was an embarrassing episode for the Biden administration, which had rolled out the red carpet for Brinton and announced the hiring proudly.
Then, Brinton was charged in Nevada over the second theft.
