Dylan Mulvaney Fires Back at Bud Light Critics: ‘These People Don’t Understand Me’

Transgender Dylan Mulvaney has broken his silence to hit back at critics of his controversial Bud Light campaign.

Mulvaney argues that Bud Light’s customer base and critics of the beermaker’s new “woke” campaign “don’t understand” him and made him a “target” because he recently became transgender.

During an appearance on Rosie O’Donnell’s podcast, Mulvaney, who claims to have just completed “365 days of girlhood,” said:

“The reason that I think I am so.

“I’m an easy target is because I’m so new to this.

“I think going after a trans woman that’s been doing this for like 20 years is a lot more difficult.

“I think maybe they think that there’s some sort of chance with me. But what is their goal?

“These people, they don’t understand me, and anything that I do or say then somehow gets taken out of context and is used against me and it’s so sad because everything I try to put out is positive.

“It’s trying to connect with others that maybe don’t understand me,” he said.

“It’s to make people laugh or to make a kid feel seen.”

Bud Light’s new campaign featuring Mulvaney as its brand ambassador has triggered a widespread backlash.

Across the country, beer drinkers and big-name stars have been boycotting the brand, causing Bud Light’s brewing company Anheuser-Busch to lose a staggering $4 billion from its value.

Country music star Travis Tritt said earlier: “I will be deleting all Anheuser-Busch products from my tour hospitality rider.

“I know many other artists who are doing the same.

“Other artists who are deleting Anheuser-Busch products from their hospitality rider might not say so in public for fear of being ridiculed and canceled. I have no such fear.

“In full disclosure, I was on a tour sponsored by Budweiser in the 90s.

“That was when Anheuser-Busch was American owned.

“A great American company that later sold out to the Europeans and became unrecognizable to the American consumer. Such a shame.”

Kid Rock started off the boycott with a viral post that has been viewed over 50 million times, saying:

“Grandpa is feeling a little frisky today.

“Let me say something to you all as clear and concise as possible,” he added before turning his back to the camera and firing off a few rounds at some Bud Light beer cases.

He ended with:

“F*ck Bud Light and f*ck Anheuser Bush.

“Have a terrific day.”
