President Donald Trump has just secured another major legal victory after a Georgia appeals court agreed to review whether disgraced Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified from her case.
By agreeing to review the issue, the Georgia Court of Appeals has delayed any potential trial from taking place before the November election, Newsweek reported.
This is the second of his four criminal cases to be postponed after Special Counsel Jack Smith’s classified documents case was dropped earlier this week.
Both cases from Willis and Smith will no longer make it to trial before the election, as the Democrats had hoped.
Smith’s case, however, is now finished after it was postponed when evidence tampering by prosecutors emerged.
Willis was spearheading the Georgia election interference case against Trump.
However, the case is now in jeopardy after it was revealed that Willis engaged in misconduct by employing her lover, Nathan Wade, to help her prosecute the case.
Trump and his co-defendants petitioned the court to disqualify Willis from the case.
Judge Scott McAfee, who is presiding over the case, refused to take Willis off of it despite the obvious misconduct.
The fact that the appeals court is willing to review the matter is a win, if for no other reason than to delay it while Trump gets back to his 2024 presidential campaign.
This crushing victory over Willis came a day after Judge Aileen Cannon ruled that Trump’s classified documents case would be postponed indefinitely.
These back-to-back wins for Trump mean that there likely will not be further litigation before the presidential election in November.
This is good news, and it’s thanks to Willis’s own mistakes.
If the Left was looking to sideline Trump during the campaign, four criminal prosecutions should have done the trick.
Instead, Trump keeps prevailing in one way or another on each of them.
For instance, Fox News reported that the classified documents case that was set to begin on May 20 is unlikely to see any further action.
Although other hearings will take place in the coming months, a new trial date has not been set, which presents a significant victory for Trump.
Moreover, special counsel Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 case against Trump faced a significant delay as the Supreme Court has agreed to hear Trump’s claim of presidential immunity.
Although it’s unclear how it will ultimately decide, it has put this case on hold as well, the Associated Press reported.
For now, it appears the only trial Trump to proceed before the election is the Manhattan “hush money” case.
This is by far the weakest of the four, and testimony recently turned into a media circus this week with former porn star Stormy Daniels on the witness stand, CNN reported.
As these trials collapse in on themselves one by one, it becomes abundantly clear that they were never substantive in the first place.
Many, including Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), believe the cases are part of a partisan effort to keep Trump from becoming president again or at least to keep him off the campaign trail.
Instead of convincing the American people that Trump is a criminal, it reveals how the system is actively working against him.
“Since this sham trial began in April, President Trump has spent more than a dozen days tied up in a New York City courthouse,” Vance wrote in a Newsweek opinion piece.
“This is precious time he could be using to make campaign stops in crucial swing states.
“It demonstrates how [Manhattan District Attorney] Alvin Bragg’s case has always been more about hurting President Trump’s campaign than enforcing the law,” the junior senator continued.
“It is time for this brazen election interference to come an end.
“But if it does go on, voters across America will send the corrupt Democrats responsible a loud and clear message when they send Donald Trump back to the White House on November 5,” Vance concluded.
Trump has faced such unprecedented odds.
Nevertheless, he continues to prevail in every legal challenge.
The more this happens, the easier it will be for the American people to see them for the witch hunt that they are.
