Far-left Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib is revolting against Joe Biden and the Democratic Party by announcing she will deliver her own formal response after the president gives his first State of the Union address.
Traditionally, it is the party not in the White House that gives their rebuttal.
However, the responses will come from both parties this year.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds will deliver the Republican response to Biden’s State of the Union address on March 1.
Tlaib, a member of Biden’s own party, will also give her own formal rebuttal to the Democrat president’s first big SOTU speech.
The move is unprecedented and will surely only serve to highlight the Democrats’ fractured party during an election year.
It also gets even worse for the Democrats, however, as Tlaib, inexplicably, plans to remind voters of all the spending Biden wanted to do in an overheating economy while the president is trying to do a “reset” and distance himself from those failed ideas.
Inflation is already bad, add Ukraine and it could be a monster but Tlaib wants to add more fuel to the fire?
She is reportedly planning to go after Democrats by name, which most certainly means she will attack Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ).
“No one fought harder for Build Back Better and a pro-democracy agenda than progressives,” Tlaib said.
“The work is unfinished and we’re not giving up on what our communities deserve.
“We need to get as much done for the people as we can this year, and elect a majority that can deliver for working families in 2023.”
Tlaib added on social media:
“Despite some sensational coverage, it’s simple: I’m giving a speech about supporting President Biden and his Build Back Better agenda for the people.
“Look past the headlines & hear progressives’ vision for working with the President & Congress to deliver for our residents.”
Holly Otterbein, a Politico reporter said:
“Rashida Tlaib will deliver a formal response to President Biden’s SOTU address on behalf of the left-wing Working Families Party.
“She’s expected to hammer moderates who have stymied his agenda.”
Washed-up Neocon Tom Nichols said:
“It’s always nice to be a sitting president up to your neck in various crises and then have your SOTU get a response – from a member of *your own party*
“’But Tom, she’s just one Democrat,’ blah blah blah. This is practically an in-kind donation to the Republicans.”
Maurice Mitchell, national director of the Working Families Party, said:
“We’re going to be clear about who and why the agenda is incomplete.
“There are particular political actors, of course Republicans, but then a very niche, small group of obstructionist Democrats. And we’re going to name names.”
